In Print and Online as a Press Photographer

As a working press photographer often jobs can be quite diverse. I get calls for all sorts of unusual and wonderful photo shoots, as well as going out and covering my own news stories too. The photography I take often covers quite diverse areas of life. I think it’s safe to say I specialise in the more unusual end of the work spectrum. It often makes for the best photographs and I like something that I can challenge myself with.

More recently, since going freelance I’ve worked as a press photographer direct for national newspapers. Be that on commissions or sourcing my own news stories and features to sell in.

Over the years I have worked for a busy press agency, taking photographs for national newspapers and magazines. I have also worked for a busy daily paper, so have an understanding of the local end of the spectrum. Here’s some of my work in national newspapers, magazines and on-line, in no particular order.

My experience in this area has also given me an extensive understanding of newspaper photography, which often carries over to commercial photography, be that PR or corporate photography. Clients will call on me because of this experience. A good photograph which can make the difference between a PR story that will hit the headlines and one that won’t.
