This set of photographs were taken March this year (2012)
This is another story that was fun to shoot. It was a simple brief where I had to just get a nice portrait of Andy Lyne for The Sun newspaper.
It’s pretty hard to believe but to join the RNLI Andy lost nearly 20 stone of his body weight. He was great to shoot and an all round nice guy too.
It was shot using a massive softbox to one side, keeping a lot of natural light from the background. I love how the stark orange, red and contrasty black of the RNLI life-jacket and protective gear really makes Andy ‘pop’ from the misty background.
Andy works as a lifeboatman in Flamborough, North Yorkshire.
